The Second AnnuaThe Second Annual Miniacs Poker Run will be held on Saturday April 21. The fun gets underway in the Starbucks’ parking lot on International Boulevard at 11:00 AM. There will be a total of five checkpoints and a card will be drawn at each one. Stops include a popular lunch spot, a new ice cream and dessert shop, a scenic vista and, of course, a brewery. The 2018 Poker Run Champ should be crowned by about 3:00 PM. But is it gambling? A straight-out game of poker is gambling because it is a game of chance. To keep the local gambling commission at bay, participants will be able to get no more than 2 additional cards at pot-building games of skill inserted along the route. The registration fee is still only $5.00. Each pot-building game of skill will cost $1.00 per attempt. All money will be returned to the winning participants.
